How we cut case modification requests from 35% to 20%

A year ago, roughly 1 in 3 cases came back to us with a modification request. Today it is closer to 1 in 5. Treatment planning is the least visible part of what we do and probably the most important, and over the past year it is where we put most of our energy. Here is how that number moved.

A team that knows aligners deeply

We invested in a new generation of treatment planners and went deep on one question: what can aligners realistically achieve, and what is the most predictable route there. That takes real study of movements, materials and biomechanics, which is why we treat planning as a specialization rather than a single step.

It also changes how we use our software. The software is where clinical thinking becomes a plan: diagnosis, treatment objectives, biomechanics and movement strategy. A specialist makes the software follow the clinical rationale, and that is what you feel in the quality of the plan.

Staying sharp is part of the job. Our treatment planning team runs weekly clinical and educational sessions, led by Dr. Khalid, so everyone stays current on technique and on each other’s cases.

The proof: fewer reworks

When planning gets sharper, cases need fewer changes. Over the last year, modification requests fell from 35% to 20% of cases, a 43% drop.

What we are proudest of is that most of the requests that still come in are not corrections. They are doctors choosing to refine an approach, or expanding a case from single arch to both.

Plans are landing right the first time more often, and patients are starting sooner.

Closer to our doctors than ever

The bigger shift is how closely we now work with the doctors who trust us.

That is what led to Doctor Pro, a 15 minute call with one of our orthodontists to talk through a real case.

We opened it quietly in 2026 with four clients. Today 90% of our doctors ask for it. A simple sign that doctors want a planning partner they can actually talk to, and that we are becoming one.
